EMI Shielding Molded Into Plastic Car Radio Cases

 

Delphi Automotive may replace numerous sheet metal enclosures for electronics in cars and elsewhere with plastic. Plastic cases replace formed sheet metal cases assembled with screws and cooled with fans. The new plastic cases achieve required EMI and RFI shielding by completely enclosing electronics with a mesh Faraday cage that is insert molded.
