New Canadian Radio Specification Standard for UWB Devices

 

Industry Canada recently issued Radio Standards Specification 220, Issue 1: Devices Using Ultra-Wideband (UWB) Technology, which establishes provisions for short-range devices using ultra-wideband (UWB) technology.  This Specification Standard applies to vehicular radar devices; communication, measurement, location sensing, and tracking devices, and 
radar imaging - ground penetrating radar (GPR), in-wall radar imaging, through-wall radar imaging, medical radar imaging, and radar surveillance devices. The standard became effective immediately. Any revisions to the next version will be based on comments received. The entire 16-page document can be found online.
