Australian Prison Leads Fight Against Cell Phone Use by Inmates

 

Australia’s Lithgow Correctional Centre’s proposed use of mobile phone jammers has moved to a new stage with the country’s communications regulator set to discuss the proposal with nearby telecommunications providers. The New South Wales Department of Corrective Services has sought a trial of the technology in an effort to stamp out illegal phone use by prisoners.
