Lumera Corporation Wins $2.2 Million U.S. Air Force Contract

 

Lumera Corp. of Bothell, WA has won a $2.2 million contract from the U.S. Air Force to fabricate low driving-voltage, reliable electro-optic modulators using its proprietary high-performance organic polymers. Utilizing RF photonics, in which optical components and optical fiber are used to process and to distribute high-speed electrical signals, helps provide the high bandwidth, reduced weight and size, and immunity to electromagnetic interference that are crucial for future high-performance satellites and phased array radars.
