Antenna Mast Crafted for EMI/EMC Testing

09/24/08 03:03 PM

The AM-400 from Com-Power Corporation is an antenna mast well suited to making EMC measurements in an OATS (open air test site) or in test chambers. The height of the antenna can be varied from one to four meters during measurement as required by commercial EMC specifications. The mast is constructed using fiberglass tubes and grating material. These were chosen because they minimize signal reflections and have a high degree of immunity to deterioration from exposure to sunlight and moisture. The cross boom of the mast is a single fiberglass tube attached to a carrier assembly. The carrier assembly rides the length of the entire mast pulled by a rope and pulley mechanism attached to a motor. The cross boom has an antenna mounting adapter located on one end. The adapter has been crafted to mount antennas—including biconicals, logs, and horns. Using this adapter, the antennas can be mounted in vertical or horizontal polarization. Look for more product information at the Com-Power website.
