Firm Wins $4.8 Million Contract to Shield Military Radio

Wisconsin-based VTI Vacuum Technologies, Inc. has been awarded a $4.8 million contract by the office of Federal Prison Industries/Unicor. (Unicor is owned by the U.S. Department of Justice.) The contract requires that VTI provide a corrosion-resistant topcoat, EMI shielding, and outsourcing of the CARC (chemical agent resistant paint) for 300,000 components that are assembled into a battery pack used in the military SINCGARS (single channel ground and airborne radio system) communications device.
