The CSSC from Cardinal Components is a programmable spread spectrum oscillator crafted to lower the EMI output of a product significantly as compared to conventional clock generators. The first in a series, the CSSC is SMT programmable with HCMOS output. The device is pin compatible with conventional oscillators allowing for simple drop-in replacement of components. The device operates at 3.3 V and 2.5 V. Additional features include stability options of 50 ppm and 100 ppm maintained over temperature ranges of 0 degrees to +70 degrees C, -20 to +70 degrees C, and -40 degrees C to +85 degrees C. The center spread is +0.25 percent ±2 percent and the down spread is -0.50 percent -4 percent—figures that make the CSSC suitable for use in copiers, LANs, printers, scanners, industrial automation, consumer electronics, or other applications requiring rapid resolution of EMI.
