Spread Spectrum Oscillator Lowers EMI Output

07/01/09 02:17 PM

The CSSC from Cardinal Components is a programmable spread spectrum oscillator crafted to lower the EMI output of a product significantly as compared to conventional clock generators. The first in a series, the CSSC is SMT programmable with HCMOS output. The device is pin compatible with conventional oscillators allowing for simple drop-in replacement of components. The device operates at 3.3 V and 2.5 V. Additional features include stability options of 50 ppm and 100 ppm maintained over temperature ranges of 0 degrees to +70 degrees C, -20 to +70 degrees C, and -40 degrees C to +85 degrees C. The center spread is +0.25 percent ±2 percent and the down spread is -0.50 percent -4 percent—figures that make the CSSC suitable for use in copiers, LANs, printers, scanners, industrial automation, consumer electronics, or other applications requiring rapid resolution of EMI. Find more detailed product information on the Cardinal Components’ website.
