Gore Joins Ethernet Alliance

Specifically, Gore will play a key role in the advancement and development of Ethernet copper cable technologies.

 

W.L. Gore and Associates (Gore), a developer and manufacturer of high performance cable assemblies and shielded cabling, has joined the Ethernet Alliance, an industry group dedicated to the promotion of Ethernet technologies. Specifically, Gore will play a key role in the advancement of and development of Ethernet copper cable technologies. Currently, these include GORE™ SFP+ and QSFP Copper Cable Assemblies for the high-performance computing (HPC), enterprise networking, and network storage markets. These technologies are also well suited to emerging 10 GbE and 40 GbE applications. Gore’s SFP+ cable assemblies comply with the SFF-8431 standard, while providing a very low latency, reduced jitter, and a maximum signal eye opening up to 25 meters with active copper technology and 15 meters with passive copper technologies.
