The global electroactive polymers product market, meanwhile, is expected to be worth $2.78 billion by 2014, growing at a CAGR of 8.3 percent from 2009 to 2014. The North American market is expected to account for nearly 65 percent of the total revenues. The biggest application for electroactive polymers lies in their future use as actuators and sensors, which in turn opens up a spectrum of applications in the fields of electronics, healthcare, sensing, and solar energy generation, according to the report.
