LIN System Basis Chips Provide EMC Performance in Automotive Applications

The ATA6623 and the ATA6624 from Atmel Corporation are LIN (local interface network) system basis chips, which have been designed in compliance with the LIN 2.0 specification and the SAEJ2802 standard. For excellent EMC performance, these chips incorporate a proprietary, second-generation LIN transceiver. With high-voltage BCD-on-SOI technology SMARTIS™ and an SO8 power package, these devices can operate at supply voltages up to 40 V.  The SOI technology also results in lowering parasitic effects and further enhances EMC performance. These chips provide ESD stability greater than 6 kV, over-temperature shutdown, and full protection against short circuits. Applications for the ATA6623 and ATA6624 include automotive comfort functions such as door modules, seat control, and intelligent sensors, as well as use in power trains. Learn more about these devices at the Atmel website
